DRAG QUEENS & THE QUEEN’S MANIFESTATION

The other day I was talking with my Mayan chef Emiliano about the fact that within many of the indigenous communities the gay members of their tribe are called Two-Spirited People, and are even considered sacred and are highly revered.

Within moments my chef confided in me that he likes to dress like a woman, and has actually performed on stage. Soon there after the idea was born to organize a real ‘Transvestite Show’ at El Jardin, or as they say in Mexico: ‘Noche de Fantasia’. We had no idea what to expect, but our chef united quite a few members of his ‘Drag Queen’ circle and 6 performers were lined up for the evening.

To refresh your memory, this is how our chef looks like during the day.

And this is what he looked like that night, transformed into Valeria Castelly Miranda.

There was also a Tina Tuner, a Beyonce, an Alejandra Guzman and a Lady Gaga. In other words, there was great variety, and above all, the quality of the performers was far above our expectations. And I had lots of fun introducing them all to our captivated audience.

In other words, it was such a great success that we have decided to repeat this show once a month. The next one will be on Tuesday the 16th of August. Be square and be there!

Something else that I’m more than excited about is that the publishing date of my next book is coming closer and closer. The content and the new cover have been submitted with Amazon, approved, and now we’re waiting for the shipment with a proof read of the actual paper book. Since we live in Mexico that shipment can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. That’s also the reason why it’s complicated to set a publishing date.

Here’s the description on the back cover:

Book 4 of The Queen’s Saga can be read independently from the previous 3 installments. Paula Liebe continues to describe the dream she and her husband Honza are living against the backdrop of the lush tropical surroundings of the Mexican Riviera Maya. In their latest adventures, they continue to experience everything life has to offer, from spiritual highs like Honza’s visitation by hundreds of extraterrestrial beings, to terrifying lows wherein they were challenged to withstand evil and corruption.  Paula’s books are always filled with a treasure of well-researched information about the true history of the human race, and past and current visitations of highly advanced extra terrestrial civilizations, and this 4th book is no exception. In order to release ourselves from the global turmoil we find ourselves in today, it is essential that we learn about our Galactic ancestors. Paula writes in her typically face paced style, brutally honest, and with a few sexual revelations that can’t be missed.

As soon as the paper version has received a final editing round, then the file will be conversed and formatted for an Ebook version, for a Kindle or any other reading device.

 Manisfestation

This is the 1st review I have received so far:

“Paula’s writing flows like water, so easy to read and easy to follow. I couldn’t stop reading and reading until I was finished. I laughed and I cried, and basically fell in love with her and her stories. This is her best piece of work. It is perfect. It is timeless. It’s one of her many masterpieces. She’s my hero!”

Good things come to those who wait…

Receiving the Speaker of the Year Award

Between all the preparations for the grand opening of our restaurant Amarte next month, applying the final touches of our holistic spa, and of course the day to day business of running an eco boutique hotel and retreat center, it was time to write a blog. Fortunately I have some note worthy news.

On this day, – exactly one year ago – I officially launched ‘The Queens Trilogy’. The 3 autobiographical books that I had worked on over a period of 13 years were for sale on all the official channels like Amazon and Barnes and Noble.  The local Rotary Club had invited me to do a presentation of my books. A year ago that was the last Dutch Queens day, the 30th of April, as our queen Beatrix has passed the thrown to her son Willem Alexander.

A presentation of ‘The Queen’s Trilogy’ on the Dutch Queen’s Day was a sweet synchronicity I had not really planned.

Maybe I was a little bit nervous over the explicit content of my talk in front of such a conservative group, but the presentation was so successful that I received The Speaker of the Year Award, handed to me by the president of The Rotary Club.

A year later I can report to you that I’ve sold 3147 books, both paper books and electronic versions for your Kindle or iPad. But more importantly, I’ve received 36 beautiful reviews on Amazon. Truthfully, you can find a 1 and 2 star review – too much information – but they add to your credibility so I’m glad they are there. Reviews are the little gems that give us authors the visibility and exposure we need to make it in the big world.

I’ve started writing the 4th book in the series, as our adventures continue, but I estimate another 3 to 4 years before that one will be finished.

If you haven’t had a chance to download the 1st book in the series, which is absolutely free, here’s a link to the Queen’s Escape.

Here’s a video with a short compilation of the presentation at the Rotary Club, last year during the last Queens Day. Please, enjoy!

AN AFFAIR WITH THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE.

Last year – exactly around this time – I had finished the first rounds of editing of my 3 books. The Queen’s Trilogy was ready for the first sneak peak of a real audience. In the writer’s world that means that you are looking for a beta reader, preferably someone who is not too familiar with your work or your persona, but who’s an avid and experienced reader.

The Queen's Trilogy

Fortunately I had met Gary Little, a 75 year old retired Superintendent of Schools. A man of such intelligence seemed to be the perfect victim for such a job, and he was. He wrote me a beautiful review on Amazon, and a few weeks later I interviewed him about his experience reading the Queen’s Trilogy.

You may want to enjoy a short impression of that interview right here, or you may want to read the complete interview below. Take note of Gary’s beautiful deep baritone voice.

WOULD YOU PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF WITH YOUR NAME AND OCCUPATION?

My name is Gary Little. I was a schoolteacher, a school principal, a vice principal, an assistant Superintendent and then Superintendent of Schools in Portage, Manitoba, Canada, and I retired after 35 years of doing that. I’ve been retired for about 16 years. Now I dedicate myself to woodturning on a lathe, and I found that’s my passion.

WHERE DID YOU MEET PAULA LIEBE?

We met Paula at one of the famous places of Playa del Carmen called the Dirty Martini Lounge, and it has become a regular stop for us and a few years ago. That’s where we met Honza and Paula.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF PAULA?

Paula struck me as a dynamic, energetic woman, who was involved in any number of activities. We weren’t fully aware at the time how many activities she was involved in, but we did know that she was an entertainer, a singer, and in fact that first year we did have the opportunity to hear her sing at the Zenzi Bar.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO READ THE QUEEN’S TRILOGY?

We had heard about the Queen’s Trilogy from Paula at one of our stops at the Dirty Martini Lounge, and I sort of kept track of where she was. When she finished I inquired about it and she asked me if I wanted to read it.

WHAT ARE THE FIRST WORDS THAT COME TO MIND WHEN YOU THINK OF THE TRILOGY?

When I think of the trilogy, the words that come to mind are… It was open, it was raw, it was erotic and exotic both. It presented a picture that I had not expected. It was a surprise. Paula opened her soul in that book, and I enjoyed being part of that experience.

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO KNOW SO MANY INTIMATE DETAILS ABOUT PAULA?

That’s a very important question. It feels quite special for Paula to open up her heart and her life the way she did. And because I was the first one to read it, it made me feel special to know her intimate secrets, everything about her… possibly like having an affair. The thing for her to consider is, as others read the book, she going to have an affair with perhaps thousands of people around the world. When others get to read it, they will have the same intimate feeling that I have.

WHAT MESSAGE DO YOU THINK PAULA’S WANTS GIVE HER READERS?

The messages that Paula gave, and there are many messages – it isn’t a single one from my perspective – is that she wants her readers to better understand the bigger world in which we live; the reference to everything, from geography to science to shamanism to Christianity, all of those things combined make for a better understanding of the world, from Paula’s perspective.

IS THERE A PASSAGE THAT STOOD OUT AND WHY?

The part that comes to mind at the moment is the chapter on India. I was impressed by it because of Paula’s description of the people she met. But also the country of India fascinates me – I’ve been interested in it and I’ve watched some documentaries about India – but after reading Paula’s description I felt that I could see it, I could smell it, I felt the filth and other things she described… it left quite an image in my mind.

YOU WROTE IN YOUR REVIEW: THE UNDERLYING THREAD REVEALED AN AMAZING INTELLECT. WHY?

I discovered that Paula speaks seven different languages. I discovered that she had traveled extensively. I felt exposed to everything from religion, to geography, to science, to spiritualism, to yoga. It’s almost a University degree in itself, reading the trilogy, because there is so much information. There’s so much research, which is another aspect that really impressed me, and surprised me as to the number of references that were to any number of topics, which again were quite a surprise to me because of the breadth and the depth of what was presented in her books.

WAS THERE A PASSAGE YOU FOUND DIFFICULT TO READ?

The section of the book where she discusses her relationship between herself and her father was somewhat difficult. I read it with great interest. It was explicit. It explained a lot about Paula’s early times, her youth and her upbringing. But of the various parts of the book that I think about now that was probably… came closest to being difficult to read, but also informative, intriguing, and it gave me a greater sense of who Paula is.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE COVER?

I absolutely love the cover. It is a piece of art that fascinates me. It’s the combination of Paula, as naked as she is right there, balancing in a yoga pose on the edge of a cocktail glass. It’s graceful, the colors are dynamic and it captures in many ways the spirit of the book, which is an accomplishment to be able to do that with a cover. It’s a gorgeous cover!

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE WITH THE POSSIBLE FUTURE READERS OF THE QUEEN’S TRILOGY?

I would like the future readers to be aware of the fact that once you start into the book you won’t put it down. It’s a rollercoaster for sure; there are the ups and the downs. It’s ride for sure, and a rollercoaster right there!

WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE ABOUT THE TRILOGY?

I would be surprised if the trilogy doesn’t surface as a bestseller. It is worthy of that status in many, many ways. It’s not a work of fiction. This is the memoir of Paula and it’s a great experience!!!
